General Information:
Entrance Fee:  N/A ENTRANCE FEE
Cooler allowed:  ☒ YES      ☐ NO
Parking:  Large parking lot—no problem to find a place to park
Pet Friendly:  ☒ YES      ☐ NO
Number of Fields in Complex:  3-5 fields
General Comment:
There are 8 fields total in the complex. There appears to be 5 playable softball fields. Previously, SSUSA (2016 World Masters Championships) used fields 5-7 only, so 3-4 possibly are not full-sized softball fields (if not, they are close). These fields have not been scheduled for a while, but pressure on SSUSA (due to Lorenzi losing 2 fields) might put Doc Romero back in the rotation.
Spectator Experience:
Spectator Seating:  Uncovered bleachers—prepare accordingly
Snack Bar/Restaurant:   YES ☒ NO
Comments:  I did not see snack bar facilities at time of review.
Restroom Locations:  Restrooms are located short walk from fields.
Playground For Kids:  ☒ YES ☐ NO
Picnic Area:  Multiple covered picnic areas
Other Park Amenities:  Many baseball fields. Many places to have a picnic as well.
Spectator Experience Comments:
If you do not have sun protection, it will be a long day. No snack bar that was visible, so bring plenty of water/drinks/snacks. Fields are close to restaurants/stores on Cheyenne, so finding things prior/after games not difficult.
Player Experience:
Dug Out:  Not covered. Prepare to be hot.
Warm Up Area:  There are areas to warm up prior to games
Batting Cages:  YES       ☒ NO
Adjacent Fields for Hitting:  ☒ YES ☐ NO
Field Dimensions:  5-7 seem to be symmetrical 300’ fields. Not sure on fields 3-4 (seem possibly shorter)
Field Conditions:  Fields are average- outfields appeared to be well cared for (grass in tact with limited bad spots)
Scoreboard:  YES       ☒ NO
Player Experience Comments:
At time of review, it was not windy, but the trash collecting along fences suggests that wind is potentially a problem. There are multiple baseball fields in the area, so there should be many places to hit prior to games, especially if they are not using fields 3-4 for tournament play.
Review Summary:
The Good:
1) Large complex with many places to warm up
2) Good picnic areas
3) Decent fields—not in bad shape
The Bad:
1) Nothing covered (dug outs, bleachers)
2) No snack bar (I didn’t see one
The Ugly:
1) It’s hard to comment, but my guess is afternoons are windy here. I have never played at Doc Romero, so I would be curious based on feedback from people who have played here.
