Number of Fields in Complex:  4 fields
General Comment:
This complex is difficult to review as a whole. Two of the fields (1&2) are natural grass and poorly maintained, making for a bad experience. The other two fields (3&4) are artificial turf and not bad to play on. Fields 1&2 do not have covering for spectators, while fields 3&4 do. It’s very strange to see these two separate types of fields literally right next to each other. The one common denominator is the wind, which blows very hard, very often and has a dramatic effect on games played.
Spectator Experience:
Spectator Seating:  Fields 1&2 have uncovered bleacher seating. Fields 3&4 have covered bleachers
Snack Bar/Restaurant:   ☒ YES ☐ NO
Comments:  Snack bar/restroom building convenient to all 4 fields in the complex.
Restroom Locations: Bathrooms right next to field
Playground For Kids:  ☒ YES ☐ NO
Picnic Area:  Plenty of picnic benches throughout park
Other Park Amenities:  There is a nice dog park just east of field 2.
Spectator Experience Comments:
The experience the spectator will have varies from field to field. If you are watching someone playing on fields 3&4, you will have shade and everything needed to enjoy watching. If you are stuck watching a team on fields 1&2, you better bring sun protection (canopy or umbrella) of you will get sunburned. No matter which field you are at in the complex, have a plan for high winds, which occur almost daily.
Player Experience:
Dug Out:  All dugouts covered. Dugouts on field 3&4 significantly nicer. On fields 1&2, the cover is wind-torn and tattered in places.
Warm Up Area:  Fields 1&2 have warm up areas (like bullpens) right next to them. Great place to set up tee.
Batting Cages:  YES       ☒ NO
Adjacent Fields for Hitting:  YES       ☒ NO
Field Dimensions:  300’ symmetrical fences
Field Conditions:  Fields 1&2 have traditionally been dog meat, especially in outfield. Fields 3&4 are turf, so nicer, although very hot during mid-day sun.
Scoreboard:  YES       ☒ NO
Player Experience Comments:
If you have been chosen to play at fields 1&2 of Shadow Rock, you have clearly either drawn the short straw or someone clearly doesn’t like you. Fields 3&4 are good, until the afternoon wind kicks up and it becomes a duel to see who’s pitcher can walk the least amount of batters. It’s true that there are limited fields they can schedule (600+ teams in the fall creates quite a problem) and these fields are necessary to play on for someone, but it’s really hard to get psyched up to play here. With that said, it’s still much better than going to work!
Review Summary:
The Good:
1) Turf fields on 3&4 are nice (unless it’s 95+ degrees)
The Bad:
1) The outfield grass on fields 1&2 are bad every time I have visited this complex. If you hit a ball in the outfield on these fields, run them out because the chances of bad bounces and/or outfielders stumbling on uneven ground is very high
2) Spectators will fry if they have to watch multiple games on fields 1&2 without sun cover
3) Playground on field 2 is easily reachable for big hitters, so be careful not to hit children!
The Ugly:
1) While the outfield on fields 1&2 are the first things you see when playing here, the real problem with the complex is the wind when it kicks up. I have seen multiple 10+ walk games due to pitchers inability to conquer strong winds.
